How to Help

Even though the mill is privately owned, our purpose in buying it is to see it renovated to keep an important historic place for Fairview.  We especially hoped to make the outside beautiful and welcoming to everyone and an asset to the neighborhood.  We will not be making a profit on the mill - likely "losing" money, but for a good cause.  If anyone would like to volunteer (or perhaps trade or bid skilled labor) we really need help with the following -
  • sorting through old papers and records left by the Fairview Farmer's Coop and preserving them for future owners and the museum
  • cleaning historical and interesting mill artifacts to be displayed around the building once renovated
  • general cleaning, making the mill look better to prospective buyers or tenants
  • sealing off openings, securing the building better
  • pigeon and raccoon abatement
If the mill sells and the new owners need help, we hope folks will pitch in to help them do something great for the community.  Here are some ideas.
  • landscaping, low water use and one section for regular water use
  • landscape features (farming, grain or mill related?)
  • landscape design
  • donating extra lumber or other building supplies
  • surveying
  • sections of fencing
  • PR or promotional help
  • other volunteer help???
  • interior plumbing
  • scraping exterior wood, sanding, priming or painting
  • replicating wooden windows
  • cement work

If you would like to volunteer at the Fairview Mill please contact Katie at 435-427-5500 or 801-635-7924 for more information.
Or email us.

Thanks!
